New tolls for passenger vessels will become effective on January 1st 2024, after providing the industry with a two-year advanced notice.

Previously, Panama Canal toll was based on berth capacity. Nowadays, berth basis has been replaced by Panama Canal Unit Measurement (PC/UMS) capacity. This modification aims to return standardized and simplified Toll structure based on PC/UMS capacity.
- Passenger Vessels - Capacity tonnage (PC/UMS) – Regular vessel < 10,000 $3.20
- Passenger Vessels - Capacity tonnage (PC/UMS) – Regular vessel ≥ 10,000 $3.80
- Passenger Vessels - Capacity tonnage (PC/UMS) – Super vessel $5.15
- Passenger Vessels - Capacity tonnage (PC/UMS) – Neopanamax vessel $4.65
