In our company, we know the difficulties that now a days surrounds repatriation and crew changes due to the Airport Restrictions and unavailability of international flights to some countries, IMO have identified this issue urging governments to intervene and in effect, declaring marine personnel as “key workers” so the changeovers can safely take place. Our agents will take place as an advisor of all documentations required by the Panama Maritime Authority to arrange a crew change in a safe manner as per the International Transport Workers Federation, International Labour Organization and the International Chamber of Shipping.

Our duties as agent:

• To coordinate all formalities and ensure the quick processing of Visa for Seafarers (which is a requirement in Panama)
• To ensure a timely embarkation and disembarkation for crew members.
• To inform the crew manning office of the close monitor of the crew joining the vessel: arrival, transportation to the vessel, embarkation, and viceversa.
• To collect all documentation necessary as supporting of the operation: including invoice receipts and documentation.

To apply for Seafarers Visa in Panama, there are some requirements:

For crew who would be embarking, We will require following information:

• Confirmation of flight or charter flight, airline, flight number, date and estimated times of arrival and departure.
• Copy of passport
• Copy of seaman book
• Certified document that the person it a license seafarer (STCW - COC) – to apply for the visa
• Seafarer's Job Letter or Seafarer's Contract of Employment. – to apply for the visa

For crew to be disembarked, We will require following information:

• Confirmation of flight or charter flight, airline, flight number, date and estimated times of arrival and departure.
• Crew List, with date and place of embarkation. (arrival and departure)
• Copy of passport
• Copy of seaman book

Keep in mind that (Indian, Chinese, Venezolan, Nepali, Myanmar, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Siria, Cuban) crew are considered restricted nationality, for which the Immigrations Department will assign a custody from the time they arrives to the airport, until the time they get onboard the vessel, other words, if the crew arrives early, they will need to be custody even if they go to a hotel.
